A son’s love for his mother inspired the Edith Sanford Breast Foundation’s lifesaving mission. You can keep sharing the love this Mother’s Day.
Nothing compares to the bond between a mother and child.
That special connection is why the Edith Sanford Breast Foundation is here today—it is the inspiration behind our mission to end breast cancer.
The Foundation’s namesake, Edith Sanford, was an adoring mother of two young boys—just toddlers. She was vibrant and loving and full of plans for her growing family. But all that changed the day she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Edith spent the last year of her life clinging to hope that she’d see her sons grow up. But she never got the chance.
Breast cancer stole Edith’s life in 1940. And it left a void in the lives of her children.
In fact, when the Edith Sanford Breast Foundation was founded through a gift from Edith’s son, Denny, he had just one wish: to help find the cures so that other children wouldn’t have to grow up like he did, without the love of a mother.
In honor of Mother’s Day on May 8, and all the special women in your life, consider a gift to the Edith Sanford Breast Foundation.
Your donation will speed the pace of cutting-edge genomics research under way right now, across the Sanford region. It will fuel clinical trials, support compassionate patient care … and it will help save and protect the lives of the women we cherish.
Every day, our researchers and clinicians are one step closer to unraveling the complexities of breast cancer and unlocking more effective, personalized treatments and cures. But we rely on partners like you to continue the momentum.
Thank you for your support. Have a very happy Mother’s Day!
